BASELINE HEALTH SURVEY



The staff of PASS conducted a baseline health survey on the Tribals living in Jawathu hills, Thiruvannamalai District , Tamil nadu, INDIA. This data  helps us to regularly update the status of the health of the tribals and recommend remedial measures.

Cultural program



CULTURAL PROGRAMS



Issues on human rights, education, health, sustainable livelihoods and others are done through cultural  programs like Street plays, film shows, dance and music regularly in the villages.   

Health and Sexual reproductive rights



Health and  Sexual reproductive rights 



Regular awareness campaigns are held for enlightening adolescent girls and newly married women on their  health and  sexual reproductive rights.  These campaigns are done by nurses that have passed out of our Institute of Nursing located at Arni , Tamil nadu, INDIA. 


Women's day 




Women s Day is  Celebrated every year, During the course of the day PASS enlightens rural and tribal women on their rights.

Awareness on TB, Malaria are carried out by our paramedical students in the villages of Jawathu hills.This has helped in reducing the number of people succumbing to TB and Malaria.  

Local Governance initiatives

Local Governance or otherwise known as panchayat raj initiatives in India, awareness amongst the people as well as the elected representatives is done on a continuous basis. This helps in keeping the people and the elected representatives abreast of the continual changes in the Panchayat Raj.  

Health and personal hygiene


Health Education 



We educate the people on health and personal hygiene.This we do by visiting villages and educating them that personal hygiene leads to a good health .This is done by our paramedical students . The above picture shows the  paramedical Students cleaning the path and decontaminating polluted water. 

Free medical camps


Free medical camps:
These camps are conducted regularly   We have conducted the second camp in the Government higher secondary school santhavasal . We have tested 312 students. They are studying in SSLC and HSC.
The following tests were conducted:
1.    Grouping
2.    Blood pressure
3.    Height and weight
4.    Hemoglobin
Awareness meeting:
We have conducted personal health and hygiene class to the students in the evening section.  150 students were benefitted.
Results:
1.    All the students have known their blood groups.
2.    All the students have known their height and weight
3.    76 students were identified as in an anemic. They were educated to eat the iron content foods and consult the physician.

Conclusion:

                                        We have finished our full task of our work in the one year’s period. Additionally we have conducted two free medicals camps for the demand of the people. We used the chemical which was sponsored by Ananda foundation – USA. I give my benevolent thanks to Ananda foundation on behalf the poor villagers those who consume the facilities in their door steps.  I think definitively we have reached our goal with in the time span. We have reach our goal with the benevolent cooperation of our staff members, students, villagers and our donor. I give my benevolent Thanks for all.
